What is TIP?
Therapy Intensive Program
(TIP) is for those parents who
want to maximize the benefits of therapy for their children. Each therapy
will be individualized towards a functional goal you have developed for
your child in collaboration with each therapist. Each child will receive
one-on-one back to back therapy of 1 individual hour of physical therapy,
occupational therapy and speech therapy 3 days a week for 6
consecutive weeks. All the therapists are working on the same Primary Goal that they
have developed in collaboration with the parents and/or child.
For example, if independent standing is the primary
goal, all the therapists will include standing in their treatment session.
If the primary goal is to follow written instructions independently,
all the therapists will include reading written instructions in their
treatment session.
Why Intensive?
The intensive schedule provides each child ample opportunities
to practice on one specific functional goal through intense repetitions
and therefore enhancing his/her achievements towards his/her Primary
Goal. Because of each therapist working on the same goal during different
activities and situations, each child has the opportunity to integrate
his/her new learned skill and therefore making it more functional!
